because leaving pamphlets at the bustop was starting to lose its effectiveness.

Hello out there internet! It’s me Eddie Ray! You are receiving this email because you have been a part of the Resistance of the machines sometime this year - either by helping to fight the smartphone apocalypse by coming to a live show, or by signing up to this newsletter.

As you know I am that guy without a smartphone, and I try to limit my time on the socials because I get caught in pokies mode and sit there for hours and forget what day it is - Which is why I wanted to make this newsletter so we can hang out, and chat without being distracted by ads for Wish selling crackpipes.

This newsletter is a place where I will be updating you on all the new projects we’re working on, give you a sneak peak at new releases and in the future and there will be an opportunity for you to be involved in the next film - but more on that later!

Firstly - I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has come to a live showing of “Silence of the Jams” this year - This film was made in isolation, having moved to the Sunshine Coast in the midst of the pandemic and having not known anyone - we just wandered out into the bush and got creative. We had no idea what we would we make, or where the film would go - We just knew we had to stay busy and stay creative.

When we were making it, it was literally illegal to picnic and dance - (such strange times) and we honestly didn’t know if any aspect of normal life would come back, and being performers, we felt as if we’d never perform again - I just spent a lot of time writing the music, recording, filming, editing, and hoping for the best, and ultimately, to perform this in front of hundreds of people every night was an absolute dream come true. So thank you for being a part of that.


EXCITING NEWS!

After a year of touring this show, and playing to amazing crowds all around - we’ve decided to go ahead and pop some stuff up online.

Next week the album will be up on all platforms and we’ll be dropping some film clips up on the youtubes for everyone to get a taste of the film.

This album was created the way Prince used to do it - wake up, write a song, jump in the studio and record every instrument, and mix it - Boom! One song a day. Recording songs based off the film was such a coffee induced buzz of fun and excitement and I reckon it’s time I film some of the process to let you in on the craziness of it all - because there is never a plan, and I just start playing a riff or a drum beat and go from there. There will be more on that later, but I hope you enjoy listening to the sonic sounds of my insanity.

Where to from here?

Well, I’m glad you asked! We have had some interest from comedy festivals and things for next year - However our amazingly brilliant drummer Dee has gone to live in Scotland - so we’ll have to train up another drummer, and relearn the whole show so we’ll see how we go on that one. In between playing gigs and lining up new ones for next year we have begun writing a script for the SEQUEL!! You know how Terminator was such an epic film, and re-wrote sci-fi thrillers, but then Terminator 2 came out and it rewrote cinema history all together and was the greatest film ever made?!?! Or when Mad Max was made it was an instant cult classic which put low budget Australian cinema on the map, but then they made The Road Worrier and it also became the greatest film ever made?!?!?! Well, we’re hoping to do the same thing here by making the worlds most ambitious zero budget film - And we’re pumped for it.

You may remember, in the spirit of man versus machine I’ve been doing my bit to fight the AI by making merch the old fashioned way - hand drawing designs, and hand printing them on to shirts. I’m going to keep things pretty short and sweet but I wanted to let you know - we’re still alive and kicking, and ready to make more art - Keep an eye out for the new shirts, the new album, and more stuff on the youtubes.
